Statement
Through a blend of abstraction and representation, my paintings delve into the intersection of physical and psychological experiences, exploring the fluid nature of reality and perception. At the heart of my practice is an ongoing search for connections—between moments, imagery, emotions, and the materiality of paint. I aim to explore how the tangible act of painting can transcend individual perception, creating new layers of meaning that enhance and challenge our experience of the world.
Each work begins with an image, idea, or feeling that lingers in my mind. From this initial spark, I engage in a process of disruption and discovery—building, unmaking, and reworking the piece until the original catalyst is resolved through the act of painting itself. This dynamic process means that my paintings are always in flux, reflecting the constant evolution of thought and experience.
The result is a vibrant, ever-shifting composition that evokes parallel worlds, caught in a moment of simultaneous construction and deconstruction. These works invite viewers to reflect on their own interactions with the environments they occupy, prompting a deeper questioning of the subjective nature of reality. Ultimately, my paintings mirror my own urge to seek, explore, and discover connections within the world.
